VISION

ECCJ Represents the UN’s SE4All Energy Efficiency Initiative as One of 5 Thematic Hubs

ECCJ (Energy Conservation Center, Japan) is the Energy Efficiency Facilitating Hub for the United Nations’ SE4All (Sustainable Energy for All) initiative. As one of its first contributions to the SE4All effort, ECCJ will host an international forum on October 29 and 30 in Tokyo, featuring international and Japanese experts to discuss and find possible solutions to the energy efficiency related issues on cities.

SE4All — Proclaiming the Vision

The United Nations’ SE4All (Sustainable Energy for All) initiative is a vision of vital importance to the entire world: providing sustainable energy to all people, everywhere.

Aiming for full realization by 2030, the SE4All vision has three major objectives:

  • Ensuring universal access to modern energy services
  • Doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency
  • Doubling the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix

ECCJ — Supporting the Vision

ECCJ (Energy Conservation Center, Japan) is one of the main global organizations supporting the SE4All vision. We have the resources, the expertise and the network to help make SE4All possible.

ECCJ works to promote energy conservation and efficiency through:

  • Providing a wealth of information concerning energy efficiency
  • Assisting in energy-related projects in Japan and developing countries
  • Cooperating in the implementation of energy efficiency related policies in Japan

SE4All + ECCJ — Achieving the Vision

Through the synergistic efforts of SE4All and ECCJ, achieving this hugely important vision is coming closer to reality.

SE4All implementation will be carried out via six regional and four thematic hubs:

  • ECCJ is one of the six thematic hubs
  • ECCJ has been designated as the Energy Efficiency Facilitating Hub
  • Through ECCJ, Japan will share energy efficiency technologies with partner organizations around the world
