Implementation of training in Japan as part of energy conservation support project for ASEAN countries on Jan. 2020

<Training in Japan>
Under the instruction and financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) invited 18 trainer candidates from nine ASEAN countries to visit Japan and implemented the following activities through conducting training during the seven-day period from January 15 to 23, 2020 as part of the AJEEP (ASEAN-Japan Energy Efficiency Partnership) Scheme 2 activities.

(1) The trainer candidates presented the results of energy conservation audits which they had conducted in their own countries, and these were evaluated by ECCJ together with the reports that summarized the audit results.

(2) ECCJ gave lectures relating to energy management systems, energy-efficient heat technologies, energy-efficient electrical technologies, ASEAN air conditioning technologies, and energy conservation discovery methods.

(3) ECCJ held examinations to confirm the trainer candidates’ degree of understanding, and made comprehensive evaluations together with the results of the examinations implemented at the Thai and Vietnam Training Centers to certify candidates as ASEAN trainers.

As part of the Scheme 2 activities, 18 trainer candidates from nine ASEAN countries were invited to Japan and the following training was implemented with the purpose of enhancing the training of qualified energy managers in the ASEAN region, together with promoting the EE&C capacity building project which contributes to building and improving the qualified energy manager certification system.

(1) The trainer candidates from each ASEAN country gave presentations of the results of energy conservation audits which they had conducted in their own countries, and these were evaluated by ECCJ together with the audit reports.

(2) ECCJ gave lectures on energy management systems, energy-efficient heat technologies, energy-efficient electrical technologies, ASEAN air conditioning technologies, and energy conservation discovery methods, and held examinations to confirm the degree of understanding of the trainer candidates.

(3) ECCJ made comprehensive evaluations for trainer certification, combining the examination results this time, the audit reports, and the training of trainer (ToT) examination results from Thai and Vietnam. Based on these results, trainer certifications are to be awarded at the Post Meeting.
